BEST PRACTICES IN IT Project Management
Strategies for Effective Implementation and Delivery of IT Projects
7 & 8 June 2023
The Pullman Bangsar Hotel,
Kuala Lumpur.

IT Project Management can be defined as the practice of planning, developing, organising and allocating responsibilities for the completion of an organisation’s specific IT objectives. It includes managing projects for cybersecurity, cloud computing, application development, IT disaster recovery, networking, hardware maintenance and IT outsourcing, among others.

According to IDG’s State of Digital Business Transformation report, 89% of organisations have adopted or have plans to adopt a digital-first strategy. Successful digital transformation requires both a cultural shift and a restructuring of products and services around new technologies and digital capabilities, and IT Project managers are amongst the most important people at the tactical level for effective digital transformation. (Source: Toptal LLC, 2023).

Apart from the standard issues that can cause project failure, factors that can adversely affect the success of an IT project include advancement in technology, IT infrastructure changes as well as issues pertaining to IT security and information management, not to mention the huge risk undertaken when a new technology or system is deployed for the first time.

Ingenium’s Best Practices in IT Project Management is a highly practical and interactive training programme where participants will be encouraged to bring real life projects or plans and work on improving them during the programme. Projects do not operate within a vacuum and therefore need to be linked to the objectives of your business. Therefore, the focus will be on doing the right things rather than just doing things right !

In addition, the understanding is that people make projects successful, not software and processes; therefore there will be added emphasis on people and performance within the course.
